Cobra? Like a Shelby Cobra replica?
I've always wanted one of those (and many other cars).

Yep, that type of Cobra.
Replica built in Victoria in the late 90's. Ford 302 and matching 5 speed.
Dad had spoken about wanting one for as long as I can remember. He'd occasionally send me links to ones for sale over the last year or so but I didn't think/know he was seriously looking until he mentioned driving down to Melbourne (with a trailer in tow if that gives any idea of the intent of the trip) to test drive one. Didn't end up buying that one but instead found this car locally only a few weeks later.

I checked my photos, I have photos of each of the three Cobras that were parked together, you were not in any of them, so I must have missed you

Had a good chat with those three that parked together, but we were right up the front. Maybe 5th car in as you turned in the driveway.

Re: Let's chat - tell us about your most recent drive
A mate of mine planned what was intended to be a motorbike trip on the weekend, but given the huge rainfall on Friday and into Saturday, I opted for four wheels and a roof. Having finally fixed the clutch hydraulics in the MX, why not blow out the cobwebs (literally) and take it out for its first proper drive of 2024?
The route was brilliant, starting in Freemans Waterhole and heading out through Cessnock to take the Bylong Valley Way down to Rylstone for the night, then continuing south and taking Bell's Line (far too much traffic) back into Windsor, skirting around the northern outskirts of Sydney to Berowra Waters ferry, then a little flirt with Old Pac before jumping on the freeway to head for home.
The "go kart" (as dubbed by the riders in the group) ran great too, and gave me no dramas aside from an intake pipe coming loose on one of the goat tracks between Rylstone and Hampton. I can't really blame the car for that one; some of those potholes were big enough to have their own postcode. All that's left is to give her a wash...

Re: Let's chat - tell us about your most recent drive
Finally some sunshine on the weekend, well Sunday at least! Yesterday afternoon I went for a drive with my girlfriend up Mt Nebo and over to Mt Glorious, there's a nice park at the bottom of the western side where we like to take moment and lay in the sun. But the sun doesn't last long at this time of year, and it's getting cool, so back in the car we went.
Going up is more fun that coming down, more turbo, less brake
It was the kind of drive I haven't had enough of in recent times, and a nice way to finish off the weekend

Re: Let's chat - tell us about your most recent drive
Took mine for a really good shakedown drive yesterday after hopefully sorting the engine issues recently - most likely caused from the lack of use. Great weather, cool but sunny. A fun blast up Wickhams Hill near McLaren Vale proved the car is back to normal. One of those hills you can abide by the speed limit while still testing the car and yourself. It showed these "comfort" tyres (and my reducing skills with age) don't have the grip the previous Continentals had! Great fun though.

I'm jealous of those hills around Adelaide, they looked like they would be great in a fun car - all I had was a hybrid Corolla

Well, considering the fun I've had in the past even in my wife's old Echo around the Adelaide Hills, that Corolla would've done fine We are spoiled for choice here and all right on our doorsteps.

Sprayed off the dust and cobwebs for a short casual drive in the beautiful sunshine this afternoon. We stopped off for some garlic bread, coffees and cakes at the new Normanville Beach restaurant after enjoying a walk along the beach. Car is running fine now after the issues a few weeks ago. So much traffic though!

Re: Let's chat - tell us about your most recent drive
What a great day! My son and I took our 5's out for the day down the coast and around the hills for a couple hundred k's. Some enjoyable cruising alongside a few spirited sections testing our cars and skills while keeping to all the respective limits, broken up with some nice breakfast burgers, coffees and a good chat. Have to say the RF is quick off the mark, mine catching up as the turbo gets its act together. Through the twisties the differences in our two driving styles and lines taken showed pluses and minuses but all in all there's very little between us or the two cars. I've "test" dríven his RF previously through a good local section of uphill corners and I feel more confident pushing in his than my SE. Where mine is unsettled by rough surfaces mid corners, his remains more settled and seems to hold its line better and that appeared evident chasing him today. Great way to enjoy time together...

Both cars look great, Kev, but your SE is just stunning!
I would love to go for a drive in a 5 in the Adelaide hills.
