lightened flywheel NB?

Postby magenb » Wed Feb 28, 2024 1:44 pm

As far as I can find the stock flywheel for an NB is around 7-8 KG, got a couple of conflicting sources. Either way, I can see there is an option for going down to ~6KG and a number of them go right down to just over 4 KG. Those in the 4 KG range don't seem to be great options for a daily.

Is anyone running a 6KG flywheel? (Xtreme Clutch Single Mass Flywheel Chromoly FMZ002C) Is there much of a difference?

Mine is about 5kg on a 1.6. It's fine on the street.

I ran an FM one for years on an NB, I think they're 4.7 kgs, wasn't much of a drama on the road,
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

I have the FMZ002CL from xtreme (the 4.7kg variant). I find there's no problem with it however I have come from other cars that also have lightweight flywheels. Driveabilty is going to depend on your clutch of choice.
