Not a chance there would be a yearly all new model- volume - cost would never support an MX-5. It's a niche car and we are lucky to get it at all. Perhaps Mazda sees it as useful to have a sports car that is so well known and the best in its class. I will bypass ND and hope that the next model has the right credentials to carry on the marque.

Yeah Jeff, IIRC Mazda released new model MX5s usually around Sep & possibly once mid year, so not until second year that sales numbers reflect a full year.

Exactly. It affects both ends of the model life.

I bought a Clubman a few months ago, and have been slowly fixing a few things, replacing non original parts and so on.
One question I have however is in respect to the head rest speakers. Mine has the speaker recesses, but they are empty and absolutely brand new, with no obvious signs that they ever had speakers in them.
Were these headrest speakers standard in all NA’s of that time (mines a ‘94), an option, or deleted on the Clubman like AC ?
Thanks

Headrest speakers weren't standard on all ADM NAs - might have been an option or appeared in some ADM LEs. Alternatively, they may have been limited to JDM NAs subsequently later imported to Aust.

Also worth checking with Ex3me on here, (Yahn on o43z5zo657) or mx589 on here (Shaun) as they might be able to help (both are in Melb). Both Ex3me & mx589 usually have cars &/or parts on Gumtree, but from a quick look didn't notice anything current:

Those figures prove why I'm seeing more NDs on the road nowadays.

Yeah, similarly NDs are what I see most of. ND upgrades this year: https://www.mazda.com.au/mazda-news/2024-mazda-mx-5/
