The board requires you to be registered and logged in to view this forum.
I just clicked on one of my links I have on MT.net to this site and got the message:
"The board requires you to be registered and logged in to view this forum."
How long has this policy been in place?
Users who click on the link first need to register before being allowed to read any content so will typically abort since no-one wants to go through the hassle of registering on every site that they may never even visit again, especially since registering usually means you get subsequently get continued spam mail from the site that you don't car about and need to unsubscribe/unregister or create an e-mail rule to automatically forward them to trash.
Can we allow casual readers to view the site again?
It would actually help to encourage new users too when they see how much information is here and want to contribute or ask questions, otherwise the sit will just be useful for existing users and eventually "fade away".
I use this site as my primary build thread and reference it in other sites and I'm sure others do too.
If this is a registered-users-only forum, I'll need to re-create my build thread elsewhere and cease updating it here because I don't want to do it in multiple places.

It's been like that for quite a few months. Prior to that it was on and off for a few years.

I just went through my browser on my phone and was able to read threads without logging in. I don’t very often use anything other than Tapatalk to access the forum, so it's quite possible. Maybe I just got lucky, but on those odd occasions, I've never noticed being unable to. My son has never mentioned it before either, and he's never registered.

Never had this problem personally, never heard of it before. I talk to Okibi on the bookface when we have issues with the site, but I won't be able to do anything for a couple of days. If anyone can message him there with a link to this thread I'm sure he will look into it.

Seems to be working OK now - did someone (Okibi) do a forum-rules Ninja edit?
I even opened [url][https://www.miataturbo.net/prefabbed-turbo-kits-3/my-3rd-attempt-se-94572//url] using FireFox (as opposed to my normal browser Chrome) and my Post #59 link to ManiacLahy's build here opens happily without asking me to log in today.

Same here, seems OK now. Let's see if it lasts (that's what happened last time).

Did not last long. Have to login each time again.
I'm not using the tapatalk app, just the internutz, which may be the reason.

I've been needing to "login" each time for some months now. I only use my Laptop.
A week ago it warned me that the site "Security Certificate had expired" but I told it to disregard.

Nahh something things on the internet act like internet things and someones host does an update or someone changes a forum setting and bingo, stuff stops working. Sometimes it is temporary and sometimes more permanent so thanks for the heads up.
I can't replicate the issue.
The Garage thread has read only access for non members.
It has been so long I couldn't even remember if i'd locked down images from being able to be displayed elsewhere or not.
We still get a*holes who try and scam forum members, or who will try and scrape the site for email addresses or mobile numbers and thousands of fake accounts try and join daily. It's just the way the internet work these days.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Yes, have to keep the criminals out. Don't need the fake users trying to scam us (still waiting for the Miata backdoors I purchased!)

Always have to be cautious asking for a back door from a Miata owner.
