Hi,
How does the internal rear view mirror cover come off? It's the square cover over the screw which affixes the stalk to the header.
Does it slide off or just pull on it? My manual does not help.

Sounds like NBs are stuck to the glass.
NAs are on the header, I'm trying to remove the cover over the mount.

Re: Rear view mirror cover NA
Thought it might have been on your silver car which seems to differ in some ways. Just had a look at mine, but unfortunately I've never needed to remove it. That said, there appears to be some give when pulling down on the mirror arm, as though it locks into the header on a sprung ball bearings or similar. So perhaps the cover doesn't actually separate to uncover the mounting base.

Re: Rear view mirror cover NA
It's identical to yours (and my red NA). The Mazda manual show the cover coming off and a single screw to remove the mirror.
I'm just trying to swap mirrors as the dip function is broken (looks unrepairable as it's a sealed unit).

Cover pulls off - clips are at the bottom/front, so just grab top/back & pull down - it should release with very little effort.

Cover is tight and u will mark it up to remove. Easier way is by grabbing the mirror and base and give it a sharp yank (a safety measure). To refit u will need to bend the spring end a tiny bit so it fits back in mount (u will know what I mean).

Re: Rear view mirror cover NA
Only yank the mirror on an NA, mounted to the header. NBs are mounted on the glass and if u pull on it it will damage the glass.
