What is this?
What is this slot for? Not on ADM NA6 or NA8, so is it a JDM thing or maybe NB? It's on both sides.

Re: What is this?
I'm guessing it is a JDM thing as I've got the road flare holder and a Eunos car key.

Re: What is this?
It does look like a coin slot, maybe for Pachinko tokens.
Factory. I have seen it on other mx5s.

Re: What is this?
And my NA8 Clubman (the red one) doesn't have the slots!
I do wonder why they are there?

Something to do with the colour? Mine's white like the one pictured.

Re: What is this?
Maybe. But I believe my car is a Jap import body (unknown colour and as Import, not a Clubman), comprehensively resprayed inside and out to platinum silver (a PPG mix).

Re: What is this?
Wow. An answer!
I got excited and went to try it. Doesn't fit, both sides. But it does make sense.

Re: What is this?
The slot running vertically like that is a bit odd, the "handle" would stick out. The NB's got a horizontal pocket on the side of the plastic, near the seat bolster, for the buckle to sit in when not in use. I found that handy before I installed the Lotus seats.

No need for a photo. My 1990 Eunos Roadster has the slot. I'd never noticed it previously!
