Re: Lachstock and Four Turbo Charged Cylinders ['04 NB SE]
This flu is bad. I crashed badly for a couple of weeks or so, taking several tests to check it wasn't Covid, but I could hardly do anything. I'd already been pulled down for weeks after my Covid booster shot back in February, still not completely right even now, so the flu on top of that flattened me. Ive had a flu shot now, but for anyone thinking about it, go get it, you don't want this one.

Yes, agree with that Kev. I had the shot too, but still had a bout, I guess it could have been worse without the shot, or maybe it was a different strain.
Lachy, make sure you are fit for the track day, or pull the pin on it. If you aren't up to it, mistakes will be made, and your recovery may be set back. Dr GM has spoken!

Yep, work does them for free. I usually don't get one as I don't think their efficacy is great, but this year I thought I should take the extra insurance just in case. My partner also got the flu shot and we both still caught the damn thing! Maybe the symptoms would have been worse without it?

It's only half day so not an all day slog. It's been a while since I've done a proper track day, so I'll be going easy on the car and myself as well. I'm not chasing any specific times, just an excuse to have a fun day with friends and cars.

Proves the flu shot is not bullet proof. I'm getting my shot today.

Did you sort out the issue with the AFR reading higher/offset? Sounds like a ground loop.
Don’t shove it on a ground as others have mentioned that is used for ECU sensors.
You can even go off the the cigarette lighter ground/block/gearbag (e.g where the ground strap links the starter to the chassis).
Anywhere else you’ll get noise on the other circuit.
Borg should definitely be making a lot more boogie; hope the low boost actuator works. That’s what I run with a solenoid valve; last time it hit the dyno it made about 218rwkw @ 14 pound or something like that.

No, the AFR analogue signal is still off by about half a point compared to the digital. Currently grounded to a strap from the block. Not enough to get too worked up about, I just need to get into to see the mad scientist (Lokiel) and sort out the ECU to use the digital signal.
I haven't had it back to the dyno for proper tuning. Something does feel off though, even at 10psi I would expect to be making more power. It could be that my engine is just getting tired and needs a refresh, or better yet a full build.
218kw at 14psi is going pretty hard, nice work. What's been done to the engine for that?

Re: Lachstock and Four Turbo Charged Cylinders ['04 NB SE]
Yeah definitely get the serial working; got my MTX-L talking Modbus/485 to my adaptronic. Always reads bang on and the plus side too is the ECU can see if the wide and is warming up/in fault.
I’ve got a build thread which I should update but it’s follow the recipe type of build:
Low mount steam pipe manifold
.5 overbore
Lower comp super tech pistons (8-8.5?)
Scat rods
Super tech springs in the head
Head service
ATI damper
Boundary engineering oil pump
Adaptronic select plug in ECU/ID1000’s/DW200 fuel pump
Yeah even on the run in tune at 10 pound it made 180rwkw. Been on a couple of dynos and it reads the same.
I’d say your tuner needs to feed in more fuel and timing!

Re: Lachstock and Four Turbo Charged Cylinders ['04 NB SE]
That's pretty much the right recipe, IMO. I'll be doing something similar in time. Timing might be what's holding me back, but you need to be fairly conservative on stock pistons and compression.
I'll get a bit more power out of it yet. Now is a good time for me to sort out my boost control, then get back on the dyno. Hopefully this flu has passed and I can find some time and a stretch of road.
I found your thread, you definitely need to update! Last post from 2018. I had a quick flick through it just now, will read it thoroughly in a day or so. I'm sure I've read it in bits and bobs before, but it's oddly unfamiliar to me. Shame the older pictures are no longer working.

Sorry to rehash on the flu thing…… almost 6 weeks of this re occurring crap for me and well over it
I think the 2 years of hard core sanitation and isolation has had a negative effect, and a result is the common influenza A is kicking serious ass!
We’ll have to tee up time for a deep and meaningful face to face soon mate!
