Postby A.Chen89 » Thu Jun 09, 2022 12:16 am

Hi all,

Item Name: NB8B Foglight Brake Duct Adapters (Suit 3" ID Brake Ducting"
Which MX-5 models it fits: NB8B (or any NB with the foglight bumper)
Item description / condition: New
City/State/Area etc. the item is located in: Parramatta/Lane Cove West NSW:
Pick-up or Conditions of Delivery: Pick up available at Parramatta or at Lane Cove West during business hours. Can also post for a flat rate of $9.30
Price and and payment stipulations: $40 for a set (both left and right hand side)

Up for sale are a pair of foglight brake duct adapters I've been making; thought they might be useful for others.
They replace the factory fog lights and bolt up with existing hardware. Designed as an easy way to mount 3" brake ducting to the bumper as an air intake. You can then route the 3" brake ducting to the dust shield/back of the spindle to cool your brakes increased pad and rotor life. Great for track cars.

These are printed in PETG and are good for temperatures up to 80 degrees celcius and are UV stable. They are also very light. Can also make them to suit 2.5" brake duct if required - just PM me.

Great idea. I fudged these on the racecar, but these look like a good fit. I'd be putting a little SS mesh on the face, to stop the stones and other largish crap getting in, flywire might do at a pinch.

Check your PMs

Sweet yep got your PM.

Regarding the wire mesh it can significantly reduce airflow though that’s better than getting a rock stuck in the brakes.

What you could also do is sandwich the mesh between the two pieces when you install it - may need some slightly longer screws.

Or I can experiment with some thinner flanges.

Yes, had that happen, more of a nuisance than anything, though if left it would have scored the disk.

That is what I had in mind, and I figured it would probably need slightly longer screws.

No, I think the longer screws would be the go, I like the idea of not weakening the attachment area, there will be a bit of weight hanging off those screws.
