NB Fuel pump connector pins

Postby Roadrunner » Tue Mar 15, 2022 8:40 pm

Does anyone know the part number for the NB 4way fuel pump connector pins?
I’m going to wire in a relay to feed power direct from the battery ala “Trackspeed Fuel Pump re-wire kit” but without the $300 inc shipping price tag
Have a relay, wires and fuse block, just need to get 2 new pins and seals for the power and earth cables.

2 great sources:

Google "Connector Witch Hunt" and you'll find MT.net's thread on this.
- simplest to use the first link, Ballenger worked in conjunction with MT.net to produce the page

Ah sweet!
Any suggestions on where to get Sumitomo pins in Australia? A few places sell them, but not this particular pin.
Bellinger want $60 USD to post 2 terminals

These guys are in Brendale and should be able to help:
https://www.rapidcables.com.au/terminals-contacts/~-410?cn=312&rf=cn
Find the width and length of the Sumitomo pin from this page - it's likely to work.

These guys may be able to help also:

Ohh I forgot about this thread. So I contacted pretty much every supplier/retailer in Australia who listed Sumitomo terminals and no one had them.
Ended up ordering overseas from Corsa Technic and grabbing heaps of Tefzel cable, seals, heat shrink, connectors and other bits and bobs that are way cheaper over there than in Aus to make the near $60  postage more bearable.
This is the 18cent terminal required: https://www.corsa-technic.com/item.php?item_id=349

I wired up the relay as normal. Feed wired straight from the battery to relay and then to the pump connector, ecu power wire is repurposed as the relay trigger and earths wired appropriately. Engine start had more kick to it straight up and bonus is the relay has been mounted in a hidden position that I can easily reach should I want to remove it for extra theft prevention if parked up somewhere (though there’s probably a higher chance I’d lose the relay and be stuck somewhere than the car being stolen)

Tell me that you put a fuse in it immediately after the battery.
