Time to sell up and move to higher ground as it appears to be a repeating cycle.
Insurance for flood is probably difficult to get or very expensive.

He thought I was almost on top of my credit card, so he decided to get an eye ulcer and cost me some more money. Nothing life threatening, just more doggy drama :|

They insure you to the opposite of what you need, if you live in a flood prone area you don't get flood insurance and vice versa. So far I'm still "safe". I'm sure there were a lot of southerners who've moved up in this boom/pandemic and have been caught out badly.

Great to see you and Hobbes are ok mate. We copped a bit overnight during the worst of it at the beginning of the week, the carpark was all good with the big punps and tanks doing exactly what they were made for, but out front got flooded on high tide……. My daily runaround street child “short round” the Hyundai Getz unfortunately copped it, its off to get assessed week after next where it will be most likely written off due to sullied salted water damage

That sucks mate. As long as the Problem Child is high and dry I'm sure you'll get by. I like the name "short round"

Moving to the hills isn't that easy, all you southerners are coming up here and jacking up prices!

I imagine every local is thinking the same to move to higher ground, thus pushing up prices even more.
It makes sense to get out as it is a repeating scenario.

You're car sits really nice Lachy. Looks great.

How'd you go with the dip on the entry/exit behind the car?

Thanks Kev! It's probably a hair low at the moment, specifically at the back, but it hasn't caused me issues yet.

That driveway was no issue, though I would have gone cautiously. I find our cars to have pretty short overhangs, so dips like that aren't an issue unless you have a splitter. What can be an issue is bumps and crests, the middle of the car is low and can get beached if not careful.

This weekend I finally got around to a project I've had planned for a long time, and built myself a hardtop stand!

PVC skeleton stand

I used this YouTube video from MiataMods as a guide, it was really quite easy to assemble. I'm usint a coule of (h?)ockey straps to hold the HT to the stand and it feels quite secure. I've also added a little padding on the bottom where the rear edge of the top sits on the PVC.

I'm really happy with it, now my HT won't sit on the ground exposed to blow-in rain and debris, and I can keep it out of the way much easier. Highly recommend if you're like me and only want the HT occasionally and need a place to store it the rest of the time.

That makes sense, thanks!
