I thought the story was leading into another Problem from the Child, very happy to hear it was nothing of the sort!

Glad to hear you could hang with the Ferrari and that the owner sounds like a cool guy and not ashamed that a "lowly" MX-5 had the gaul to play wit him.

I can only imagine how that thing would have started to haul ass on a longer open highway run- it sounded fantastic :BROADY:

Good to see you're finally committing to this project Daffy, I really thought you should have been trying a bit harder.....

Ok , first up- I haven’t been very active on the forum for a while- home, family, work and several dozen other commitments have been keeping me pretty much on my toes of late, but its not like I haven’t been lurking in the shadows and reading up on what all you folks have been up to!
There hasn’t been much fun stuff to write up about involving the Problem Child over the past covid screwed up year and a half, but new plans have been a brewing. First up, (I still have to pay you for it Maniac Lachy), I have my hands on a long awaited stainless steel exhaust to sort out the corrosive issues in the current set up that come from constant E85 use. Second I have also procured a nice flattop intake, 3rd there is a new (sprung) clutch on order to eliminate the NVH from the solid (and starting to prove inadequate) BMW clutch currently installed.
But whats the point on doing all this new stuff that will require another run on the dyno without making it worthwhile eh??
Onwards and upwards with some serious thoughts at the moment of installing the famous Borg Warner EFR7163!
At this time in liaison with ace mechanic Daz, we are looking into a new manifold set up (it will have to be high mounted) that I will hopefully have more details about later- I know there is overseas options available, but I think we can come up with something Aussie built for a more reasonable price, (I have had some messages received from great folks on the mx5cartalk Facebook group RE sourcing excellent quality local manifolds- thanks Rodd, champion!)
So at this stage the long and short of it is, (a ridiculously big) turbo, clutch, manifolds (either 6boost in Toowoomba or Pure Fab in Sydney), exhaust and some piping upgrades are in the planning and purchase stage. :DIY:

I'd love to see this car in person
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.
