I had a deep and meaningful with Daz today, and he’s really confident that its all systems go for you mate. I have the All Japanese Day off so (at this stage) all good to have the Problem Child sitting side by side with ya. Sorry I been pretty quiet lately, but I have a whole lotta personal and family things taking priority over the past several months.

Thanks Daffy, I knew once he focused on it things wouldn't take long! Late this coming week, or more likely some time next week I'll pick it up I'm confident.

Glad to hear you can make it to All Japanese Day, don't forget the pre-meet!

Tomorrow I pick up my car!

The latest engine bay shot

Almost all done! The Dann Can is now down by the overflow bottle, the hoses are a little unwieldy, but it's getting crowded in there. Air filter is in, heater hoses are back on.

The only thing I see unfinished here is the coolant hoses that would connect to the water neck and throttle body. the neck is gone, and the Skunk2 TB doesn't have coolant ports, so the hose needs to go from down by crank pulley directly to the oil filter warmer. Oh, and I just noticed a loose hose coming from the back of the engine around the edge to the overflow bottle - not sure what that's doing.

So I head down to the GC tomorrow morning with my laptop and hope and prey I can get her to start! Coolant will need a bleed, and the fuel tables will need some adjusting. But with any luck at all I should be driving my car for the first time in 18 months, and bringing her home! I'm not sure I'll get much sleep tonight from excitement.

That spare hose is coming from the intake manifold where the PCV would usually attach. You’ll need to plug that at the intake manifold when using the Dann Can.

Very exciting!

I used that as a very accurate and responsive source for my boost gauge sender unit.

I made it home successfully without much trouble. I'll update some details shortly, but for now here's Hobbes with the car back in my driveway letting the engine cool off before a much needed wash!

It was a good morning, lot's of great cars on display and good to catch up with Daffy!

Then I went for a drive with a friend who has an S2K - out to Samford, up Glorious and down Nebo. It was a mostly slow drive because of SUVs, but still a lot of fun, and perfect top down weather.

Big update coming, just so many thoughts to organise and make coherent, and at the same time one or two things to sort on the car - as there always is and will be.

Great to see it back on the road, it'll be a blast once any teething issues have been ironed out.

Every professional in Queensland thinks Megasquirt is the devil. I am the tuna.

(I am disappointed I couldn't find an appropriate "I am the tuna" meme - I felt sure there would be one)
