Just purchased an NC1 MY 2006, for those in the know what are things that I should keep an eye on ? ( apart from coolant over flow bottle) Are there any common component failures I should be checking ?
Thanks in advance
Mark

Very solid car. There are really no serious problems. Just service it and check like any other car.

Had mine for over one year and I had to replace the rear shocks, and read that this not uncommon. The only other common issue that I know about is the sunvisor dropping slightly. Not a big issue but annoying. You will find a few posts about this with different solutions.

Yeah coolant bottle and rear shocks are the only common failures. You’ll see a oilily residue on the shock body of they are stuffed

Is this something that is unique to the rear shocks on the NC1? Are they regarded as a faulty item? What sort of mileage are we talking about?

Now I'm worried, also wondering about klms for rear shocks. Hell if I have to replace shocks my cat back and tyres are no more

When you turn your car on, does it return the favour?

I had a rear shock go at 25000km in my NC1 then a front one let go at 38000km.
Other owners I spoke to at the time said that it was uncommon.
I replaced all 4 with Tokico adjustable gas shocks (to maintain ride quality) and they were still fine at 80000.
