They have finally arrived and are on, I haven't been able to put them to a good test yet but seem good for everyday. Track day next Friday, will see how they go then. They were still nil stock a couple of weeks ago when I rang, told the supplier that I would have to make other arrangements , got a call back half hour later and, lo and behold, they had found some which arrived a week later.

Nice, what pressures are you going to start out with? Maybe some knowledgeable people might chime in to help out. Always good to have a decent starting point for a particular tyre. I've never used RS4s.

I used to track the earlier Adrenalins. My aim was to finish the session at around 37-38 hot. So start at 34 warm day or 32 cold day.

I plan on starting at 30psi cold, which I expect to be about 34 hot. This is what magpie suggested when I asked before the first trackday I did in the Mazda. Seemed to be alright to me.

When I used RE003s on the track they worked best around 38 hot. But Re003 are not RS4s. Could be very different, I don't really know. My Nankangs and previous Nittos like about 28-29 hot. So it's hard to say.

I typically aim for 32-34 hot with the RS4s, so high 20's cold. I haven't experimented all that much but they are certainly very effective at that pressure.

I did my trackday at Lakeside yesterday with my new RS4'S, and I couldn't be happier. I managed to lower my P.B. by 2.66 seconds, and that was from a time registered 2 years ago which was an outlier, in the order of almost 3 seconds lower than anything close to my average, or 5.6 seconds better than my best time at my last at Lakeside 6 weeks ago, when I thought I was getting it close to right. The car felt so much better, the rare occasions when a little slide was induced it was very (almost too) gradual and predictive. Although I did my first trackday at lakeside over 50 years ago,( in a stock Renault R8) I did my 2nd one in 2016,when I bought my 5, and only one since 2017 . I feel that, with the car exactly as it is, I can see about 1.5 more seconds in it with a bit more seat time. Many thanks to those on here who talked me into these RS4's I certainly recommend them for anyone in the same position as me -- experience and money short, ambition long.

So what did you decide on pressures, and how was the weather?

I went for 30 cold, which came in at 34 when I measured a little while after a session, so as it was a pretty hot day, probably 2 or 3 psi higher than that. I was happy with them at that, so much better than what I was used to. I probably won't get another track day in until next February but I'll stay there for now. I need to improve my technique in a few places, including some trail breaking to get a bit of rotation and improving on my smoothness, I'll sort that first then start playing with pressures. What are peoples thoughts on lowering the pressure in the rears a little to induce a little oversteer at the apex

Thanks for that. I prefer a light tap on the brakes for rotation.

Got my sister to go get herself some 225/40/18d for her car on the same deal.
Well actually she failed rego(I would have passed it ) so was forced into it. Lucky timing.
$584!!!
Although in that size they seem narrow. On the 7.5 inch rim, the tyres don't cover the lips on either inside or outside.
Never used Bob Janes website so was not sure if the $194 price per tyre was with or without the discount applied. So I called and of course they tried talking me into Michelin PS4, which I quickly dismissed as that is what she already had. They get horrendously noisy as they wear down which the Bob Jane man would not agree with saying it is an issue with the car!!! Yet we had a set of Dunlop Star Specs 2's that are more quiet with less tread and track use.
