10th Anniversary OEM brakes

Postby pdsman53 » Thu Aug 06, 2020 1:02 pm

Guys,
I just bought a 10th Anniversary which appears to have Brembo's front and rear.

I'm assuming that these were fitted as an aftermarket upgrade.....not OEM...is that correct??

Cheers,
Jim

Not factory. I don't think any mx5 had Brembos fitted.

Not factory, for sure. Engineered? Brembos stand out like dog's whatevers, and should be noted on your insurance.

Bruce, I have a feeling they might have been part of a package on a special edition NC or ND? But not NA/NB as far as I know.

Thanks guys...I thought as much.
Looks like I need to swap them out to OEM, to meet the new MX5 Club NSW "standard" class criteria...bugger!!

Would the Club/Scrutineer/Checker notice or even care? Maybe get knocked back first before going to all that effort of removing, find std brakes, and then selling the Brembos.

Not the point, is it Bruce?

I'm assuming the OP is relatively new to MXs and club motor sport. I'd suggest the OP run in a modified class to start with, just to get track time and work on his driving. That will get him experience, and buy time to decide if it is for him, and whether he wants to run in the standard class (which I normally strongly suggest, for reason of 'buying' seat time rather than modz). If he does, it also buys him time to find and fit the OEM brakes.

Not true.

ND 30th Anniversary (S0fttop)

You bet that will get noticed.
NSW club events are very competitive so something like this will get noticed even though they only slow you down...

2008 Peugeot HDi Lemans, Number 1027/2000, White with Red stripes

Yes, I'm not up to speed with the latest ND brakes. Certainly not fitted to NAs or NBs which OP was asking about.
Did you not notice my last post regards Club/Historic rego?
