Timing of 2018 midlife update

Postby kriscafc » Fri Jun 26, 2020 6:52 pm

Hello everyone,

I’m thinking of buying a second hand 2.0, with a build date of October 2018.

I wanted to check that a build date of after October 2018 will incorporate the increase in power to 135kw and the telescopic steering?

It’s being sold as part of a deceased estate so original paperwork is missing, and the seller doesn’t know. I’d be heading interstate so keen to avoid a wasted trip!

I'm not 100% sure however I thought it was the 2019 model that kicked off the "ND2". Production on MY19 starts in September each year? Sorry I can't be more accurate.

A VIN check should tell you.

Just ask the seller for a photo of the tacho - if it a 2L and has a 7500 redline then its an ND2.

Check Mazda- your local dealer and spare parts will id the car from the VIN or should be able to confirm change date .Good plan re better engine.
