Re: Daffy's SE
The end of an era, after 40 years of operating from the little workshop in Coolangatta, mechanic Daz and his dad have closed up the Cooly workshop and relocated to nearby industrial area in Currumbin. A new residential development sees the end to the little workshop with so much character where so much of the Problem Child magic happened. And Ben the engine builder has also wound up his workshop across the road from Daz to relocate a few suburbs away in Carrara, he took over that business a fair few years back from a fella that had the engineering work shop running as long as Daz’s dad has been there. New beginnings to be sure, but so many moments and good times for the boys in those shops over the years now committed to happy memories.

Re: Daffy's SE
As well as the standard SE radiator has held out, a recent stop start 2 hour 40kmh crawl in humid 40 degree heat on the motorway, Making the Problem Child a bit cranky, has seen me finally bite the bullet and pick up a Mishimoto 52mm radiator (via Mx5mania). Install will have to wait till Monday week on next days off.

Im still running my stock one but I have the PWR twincooler sitting on the shelf begging to be put on.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Mishimoto radiator transplant underway!
I was contemplating the PWR mate, but for my purpose that may be a bit of overkill. The PWR’s really do look the business.

New rad is in. Some modifications to the fan shroud and bolt threads- It fit surprisingly easier than expected

Re: Daffy's SE
Looks good. Now you'll need to wring the car out to test if it's working properly
Best wait until the roads dry up a little though, you'd have traction problems in best of conditions, this rain will see you spinning tyres!

Re: Daffy's SE
Thanks for the traction control info guys, something to definitely ponder on, but at this stage T/C will be on the back burner until I get the new clutch in (yep, the super solid BMW/CTS driveline and diff NVH is starting to get a bit ordinary ). There is the ACT clutch option available from Kmiata that would significantly lower the NVH as well as being, well just a better clutch than standard. I have spoken to Jim Berry about a solution that he may be able to come up with, but the cost of modified vs plug and play dont make it viable. I got to get the ABS sorted out soon too with new rings (simple fix, just got to pull the finger out and get it done) and think more about the suspension as the old Teins are starting to get on. I will also be looking upping the power output more and replacing the old GT2871r turbo with possibly a new G series before long, with ambition to make the Problem Child slightly.......aww hell, more nuts than a squirrels wet dream, making traction control a necessity

I’ll start looking into those options mate, still a bit of time to research, but I will be hitting you guys up for more pros and cons details on which one to settle with when time gets closer.

I’m sure the Problem Child will only continue to improve mate. I’ll never forget the ride I had in it/him/her. I’m going to have to rely on you & Magpie for my thrills now. Can repay with fishing trips though.
