I used to help a lot of guys get going again on track days. Little hoses around the back to the filter to the throttle to the pump would have been in the top 3 problems.

Thanks for the heads up mate.
All have been replaced about 3,000km ago.
They are a little bit of fiddling about but I was going to chance it.

As an update everyone it’s all back together except undertray so I can check for leaks.

I ran some engine flush through it before dumping the oil.
The longer Z148 filter has been fitted and some Penrite 10 tenths 0w-40 it’s running very smooth and my noisy hydraulic lifter has disappeared.

I’m going to clean up around the back of the motor before putting it back down where the CAS leaked a little.

So job all done, and the car is running very sweet.
It was a really nice day down here on Monday so I asked the wife if she wanted to head over to Bermagui for dinner in the MX with the roof off, she replied can the dog come?........ I reluctantly said yes. I don’t let the dog in the 5 generally..... The dog loved it!!!!
Here is a couple snaps. Including a couple with no hardtop and a very happy dog!! Hahahaha enjoy.

Took the car for a spin on Sunday to Tilba,
Some nice twisty roads up there and it’s really just a nice drive in a roadster.
Grabbed a couple pics before heading out and taking the roof off, I like this one from behind in particular.
Can’t wait to get the other body panels (still not shipped but not far off) and get the rear end fixed up.

I got back and thought I might just have a play day, I needed to give the vege garden a go over and wash the Ute but everything else could wait so jumped on the bike and headed out to Brogo dam. I hadn’t been out there since December before the fires, I grabbed a few shots that you may be interested in.

The below is from 22/12/19 from the exact same spot. I was in the Patrol this day and had fun driving around on the bottom of the dam.

And this one below is from 24/2/18 and again the same spot.

Nice to see the build coming on again, Alex. Even nicer to see the vegetation recovering around Quaama and Tilba.

My car is getting out of the shed again and I'm using it as the runabout. Injectors were sticky but came clear after a couple of runs, otherwise it's still pulling like a train. If nothing else you get to see how the crowns are regenerating. The wildlife-free period is ending. Roos and wombats wandering about, so the night driving has stopped.

Di and I have done a couple of solid sessions clearing fallen timber from fencelines on the property towards the lion park from your in-laws. It's the first positive we've taken from the fires - a couple of tonnes of bone dry, clean red ironbark.

Thanks heaps mate, it’s great to be surrounded by green rather than black again.
If you need another set of NB red injectors I have a spare set you can have.

A kangaroo got hit at the end of my driveway the other night and I nearly cleaned up a Fox in the 5, those little spot lights make a difference and I could run higher wattage bulbs if needed.

I was thinking the same, I cut up a few trees in January on the side of the road that burned at the base but were clean up high, ANZAC weekend is generally when we light the fire but hit 4 degrees on the cold morning a week or so ago.

I have been slack but will try catch up with you and Di in the coming months.

Hahahaha thanks mate but he is a she, we did have her brother but sadly no longer, I think my wife said it best “it’s all the best parts of a Ute but warmer and with her humans” she can definitely come again, she is very well behaved.

Injectors are good again, just needed a couple of runs.

Days are getting shorter. I've gone over one dead fox in this car and never want to go through that again: putrid baked fox on the exhaust and strips wrapped around the half shafts.

Would you mind putting up a closer pic of those spots and mounts? No rush, I'm just toying with the idea. I haven't been able to work out a decent looking light bar setup. They were just Supercheap cheapies weren't they? What diameter?

Thanks Manga, that was one of the worst experiences ... but you already know that!

Stay healthy everyone!

It sort of had a good outcome. The fox got snagged on the exhaust flange. So ... next time we needed to do some gearbox work we cut off the manifold at the last Y of the 4-2-1 and welded in 2 1/4" pipe and flex straight through to the cat. It ran a bit freer and seemed to pick up a couple of Kws right through the range.

Not much of an update everyone,

Firstly I hope you and your family are safe and well during these tough times and that none of you are suffering from poor health or financial stress during all of this.

I am still waiting on parts for the body to get the car to the painters and some leather quilted goodness for the interior.

I have been working a fair bit which is great at the moment which I consider lucky during these times.

We are also doing some renovations to the house so that is chewing up any free time.

I have ordered a couple little pieces for the car, both are from the land of the rising sun but I will elaborate on that when they arrive but some hints, 1 is from Mazda, 2 is retro goodness from a well know Japanese source.

Anyway I was putting up some new blinds in the garage and moved the car out.
My wife grabbed this little photo and sent it to me, the car isn’t overly clean but I still think it’s a great pic.

All the best everyone, hopefully some good updates coming shortly.

That is a very cool photo. That should be your computer desktop wallpaper!
