If you're so inclined you could even try a an ACT wrecker when they reopen as the relay was probably used by a number of Japanese vehicles. Or even a wanted to buy post in the appropriate section of the forum.

IIRC, Imasen LA10, but OP (Ted) should check in case his is running something different, as I think there were some differences between the various markets, ie ADM, JDM & USDM. Imasen LA12 is another NA relay, but again IIRC it's the headlight relay.

You wouldn't believe it! Got a new relay, put it in and still doesn't work other than very occasionally when the steering wheel is turned 180 degrees. Which suggest some faulty connection in the hub. Auto mechanic coming back tomorrow afternoon. Just as well I am known for my patience.

I was doubtful that it was the relay.
It will be as I described as above. Solder the wire back down, put a big blob of glue on the wire to prevent it from pulling on the new solder joint.

No solder, no blobs required. Just persistence. Little pin that springs in and out in the section behind the steering wheel wasn't springing in and out after reassembly. Twice. Finally found that it was bent. Unbent it became, and now we are fine.
By the way, I now have a spare $89 horn relay that I can't return because they seem to be engineered to break their mounting tabs when you remove them! Cable-tied.
