NA door side mirrors - replacement glass mirrors?
Any Australian sources for replacement mirror glass to suit NA door side mirrors? Looks like there's plenty of options from the UK. I've cracked my drivers side mirror. Have the assembly apart and seeking a replacement mirror glass for it.

Last broken car mirror I had, I took it down to the local glass shop and they cut and fitted it.

Was that an automotive type glass shop or a retailer that does other glass and mirrors non-automotive?

Won't be tinted. Buy genuine stuff.

Was an ordinary glass shop, they also fitted bathroom mirrors in our house many years ago.
Bruce, they had tinted mirror glass too.

What do you mean by tinted? Neither of my mirror glass at moment seem to be obviously tinted? They look similar to a house/bathroom mirror.

You will notice the difference when driving at night as non-tinted glass will dazzle.
Buy genuine OEM.

So is there any visual difference to be able to identify if the glass is tinted or not? My passenger side mirror isn't genuine and seems to just be a generic piece.
When you say buy genuine OEM, are these replacement mirror glass inserts available? If so, where? Or does the whole new mirror assembly have to be purchased?

As far as I know there's no genuine glass replacement. There's a few aftermarket direct replacements, mostly from OS. I can't remember if there was much difference price wise in getting it done locally, just convenient and faster at the time.

Re: NA door side mirrors - replacement glass mirrors?
For anyone interested in the future, local O'Briens Glazing quoted$30.00 to cut out a new mirror using the old as the template - dropped it off this afternoon and will be ready tomorrow. I forgot to ask about tint though. I'm positive that neither the old mirror or the passenger side one are tinted - they look identical to other house hold mirrors. Can I just have normal automotive window tint applied to it while they're out?
