Looks very clean. So, is it back in your garage? Will the Problem Child be at the dodgy day (that I won't be at  )?

It was at the dodgy day, in fact it was used to do some welding!

Haha welding indeed. I think Daffy can fill the details. Thanks for taking me for a spin Daffy. I had an underwhelming drive home in my NA6.

Anytime mate :)
Welding details eh! 1st up, any doubt about just how powerful an odyssey pc925 Battery is, Its powerful enough that when the battery comes loose and the positive terminal gets pressed up against the metal battery mounting brace, it melts said brace in a pretty hail of sparks- I had a dodgy drive halfway to Magpies, and for about 40 minutes, thinking that an earthing wire was loose causing a few electrical spaz attacks, was in fact a sparking light show happening under carpet, in the boot of the problem child..... while I was driving..... WITH 2x 5LTR PLASTIC JERRY CANS OF E85 sitting right next to it  !!!!
Now that is as dodgy as it comes.........

Easily could have been the end of Daffy and his car. Shouldn't the battery be facing the other direction in case it wiggles loose and grounds out again?
Who puts a Mod Plate in the boot to be hidden by carpet?

Wow that could have turned out so bad!! As it is I reckon I'd be packing some rubber between those terminals and the bodywork!

That is what we did. Trimmed the bracket between the pos/neg terminals, packed around the battery and some heavy foam rubber on the battery.

Was a decent dodgy day fix... a toothbrush, body saw, jig saw, bench grinder, pine stud and gym rubber matting :)

Is that battery standing up? My Odyssey is standing up in something like this which bolts to the bottom of the car. I still need a 'U' section at the top to eliminate the risk of sideways movement, but regardless, insulating that red terminal is the priority.

Lucky escape, buy yourself a lottery ticket on the strength of that one

I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)

We could have had crispy skin duck for lunch on dodgy day instead of chicken and lamb...

Definitely dodged a bullet there mate.

Good to catch up again, and get a good look at the car. I have been lucky enough to drive quite a few "supercars" and race cars, but yours is right up in terms of straight line performance :)

Thanks mate, at the end of the coils install, I was actually surprised at how easy and tidy it all fit in.
StanTheMan wrote:what about your cold idle....mot hat its cold atm.

The cold idle is sorted now, the old coils breaking down did contribute a bit, but at the end of it all Daz found that there was a line loose on the throttle body fast idle thermo valve!

I guess more wiring issues will be on the agenda...
