West of Bega

Come on folks, head south from Bega on the highway for a few kays and then turn inland (west) towards Candelo. At Candelo, go over the bridge and turn left, ignore the turnoff to Tantawangello, and head onto the fabulous Myrtle Mount Road. Not only is the scenery glorious, but the road is a driver's delight.
At the T-Junction at the end of Myrtle Mount, turn right, and then the fun REALLY begins; the awesome Mount Darrragh!! You won't get a chance to breathe until just about at Bombala.
(Then, if you've got plenty of time, turn off the Monaro heading north onto the Snowy River Way, and go to Jindabyne. Then do the Alpine; you know you want to...)

Turn off Snowy Mountain Highway near Kiandra onto Link Road, carry on Goat Ridge Road then Snow Ridge/Tooma Road and Swampy Plains Creek road to Alpine Way. Done all three - Alpine Way, Snowy Mountain Highway, and that middle road - over the years in the SE on our way to or from Canberra. Alpine Way was top down, light drizzling rain and -1° all the way over to Jindabyne!! Was awesome
