SUBs? Sandpaper on glass will reduce the thickness. I used that, and a proper thicknesser, when redoing the shims after a cam change.
Not much you can do if they are too thin though

divided by my account’s several face palm’s.......
time+speed=distance, only applies when the wife is holding a cricket bat, or mechanic throwing spanners at me ................
multiplied by several “what the hells, just do it” =

awsome coils they are thirsty suckers remember to upgrade your power feed as they are 2or 3 times what the CBR(Fab9)coils require i also think they have require 2 earths per coil if my memory is correct.

Re: Daffy's SE
Did you have any issues with a CEL displaying with the fab9 coils?

Fortunately, I have not seen the CEL on for a very long time, and definitely not with the Fab9 coils. They worked really well (aside from modifying the plugs to get the best connection out of it), but the position they take see them sitting on a really hot part of the motor. The cold start up idle has been an indication for a while now that they were starting to perish (after more thanks 4 years). Hats off to fab9, these coils have held up well for my set up, more so than I thought.

I got a Ford alternator in as well as an odyssey PC925, hopefully I have enough there to be sufficient.
Heres a youtube link to show the acceleration from standing start 1st, 2nd and 3rd change before an immediate back off, plugs gapped at .5 with the fab9 coils in at 25psi of boost. I will be posting up more of the rewire and installation shortly

Re: Daffy's SE
I don't think the Haltech would throw a CEL for the coils, they'd work or they wouldn't, you just configure the ECU correctly and you should be good to go.
I don't think a stock ECU could run them, but it would likely throw a CEL as it would be seeing something it doesn't expect.

Re: Daffy's SE
The mounting bracket and coils are ready for placement away from the heat. Time to run some new harness and wires and relocate the radiator overflow bottle, then take some measurements for the new leads. Once done its off to the tuner to program in some dwell time.
