Dash kit for installing aftermarket stereo in 2007 NC

Postby Bravo203 » Thu Oct 24, 2019 5:48 pm

Hi
I've searched the forum but I can't find any reference to an aftermarket dash kit for installing a Double DIN stereo.

Has anyone done this for a 2007 NC or similar?

I found this: https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120997506 ... h-Kit.html but Crutchfield do not ship to Australia.

Seems to be available in AU via resellers associated with: https://stingeraustralia.com.au/product/mt99-7506/
Otherwise:
-An option might be to use a freight on forwarder to get it from US to AU.
-Or may be Metra sell direct or can steer you toward an appropriate reseller:

http://www.metraonline.com/contact-us
-On Ebay & ships to AU: https://www.ebay.com.au/b/Car-Audio-Vid ... n_36567585
-On Amazon & ships to AU: https://www.amazon.com/Metra-99-7506-In ... B000K4V56Y
-On Fishpond: https://www.fishpond.com.au/Electronics ... 6429153732
-Alternatively, might be worth looking in the NC section of the (US) big forum for a solution: https://forum.miata.net/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=79

There is a local kit Aerpro FP8157 They are on ebay for $80 or $90, or Supercheap have them for about $100.
This place seems to be the cheapest https://frankiesautoelectrics.com.au/ae ... r-2005-08/

Thanks. I searched for Aerpro parts through Supercheap but I ended up with the wrong parts.
So, I found the Aerpro website and located the exact parts I needed. I bought a Kenwood DPX-5100BT through Supercheap (on sale) and then bought the Aerpro CHMZ5C and APP9KE5 harnesses. Basically, it was just plug n play. I had already bought the plastic fascia from the U.S. but Aerpro have them too. The only difficult part was removing the support bolt from the BOSE unit and screwing that into the rear of the Kenwood unit. Once I had located the correct hole in the rear of the unit, I had to tap the hole with a matching thread for the supporting bolt.
Once it was all fitted, the steering wheel controls worked perfectly and the sound was much better. Now we have hands-free phone (2 phones supported), Bluetooth, USB, CD, Spotify and AM/FM. Very happy. :) :) :)
