Well I’ve dríven with some shitty OEM mirrors with distort everything . Every time you look you gotta refocus. It’s a concern when you just want see what’s going on around you.

I actually modified them a bit for a better view. The adjustment was set by a screw at the point of the bullet (nipple?!). I think I enlarged that hole (or something else) to allow the mirror face to be moved more for sideways vision (stock, all you could see was straight back).

Just a little update.
My gauges (Anodised stainless) were hard to read when the top was down and light was shining onto them, this was a combination of reflection from my glass lenses and the white needles.
Not much I can do (cost effectively) about the lens glare but I could do something about the needles.
So I went from this

Another small update,
JDM parts are usually really nicely made but you get what you pay for and sometimes it’s hard to justify so I have been building something from scratch........ not finished but a sneak peak.

It’s nearly there just borrowing a sowing machine this week to do the armrest console cover then it should be just about done.

She’s coming along nicely! Like the subtle revlimiter shift plate too.

If you ever end up making another one, I would certainly be interested! Purchasing bits straight from Japan has not been dear on my wallet of late :frown:

Yer I had the shifter plate and window switches on my stock console so they have been switched over.
I have picked up the sowing machine so should have it done in a day or two all going well.

Not sure I will make another but so far apart from the Revlimiter switches the shift ring is the most expensive part

So I got the sewing machine and sat down last night to sew up the armrest cover the way I wanted.
I was tempted to go quilted like my door cards, sills and shortly transmission tunnel but decided it would be too much.
Now this is the first time I have used a sewing machine since high school and it took a few practice runs to figure it out but I got there.
So after cutting all the pieces out, figuring out how the sewing machine works I got into it and it was coming along ok......... then i sewed the last piece on backwards and had to start again.
This was about 9.30 last night after being up since 2am so there was a few choice words let go.
I didn’t want to go to bed stewing on it so grabbed the vinyl out again, cut new pieces, and did it all over again. To be honest the second attempt was better anyhow.
The first attempt I cut down and lined the inside of the console lid so not a complete waste.
Anyway today I tidied up some bits and we’ll without further ado...........

You are so so right!.
It drives me nuts!! I often take the face off due to the annoyance, I rather listen to the car than music anyway but it lives in the centre console so it was put on removing the old one.
I plan to put a retro sound unit in it with an analog clock mounted under it. I have a small piece of black leather sitting there to trim it with when I do it, I also have the plastic bored that I’ll make it out of but the unit and clock I want comes in around $800 so it’s down the list
