Based on your description of the tuner I may be your man. I ran 177.3 rwhp with 2.5 head, Kelford stage 2 cams, 10kg flywheel, full exhaust, 2.0 injectors & running conservative timing advance in case of bad fuel. Tuner reckons there's another 10-15hp in the timing but we went on the safe side as it's mainly for road use.
Apart from cams just swapped everything over from 2.0 - 2.5 & dumped it in.
Another Brisbane 2.5 swapper, welcome on board Alan. Would be good to meet up and have a look at yours. I’m over in Samford Valley but get to cars n coffee most months.
Great power you made, do you know which cams yours were? I had a look on the Kelford site and could only find stage 1 cams. My cams came from Deckspeed and were their 2.5 specific road cam which I was told was a custom Kelford grind.
Which exhaust are you running and any plans for any track days?
I'm in Clontarf so not too far for a catch up. Unfortunately because of work don't get to the cars n coffee but sounds like I might have a couple of "headaches" coming up.
I couldn't find a cam listing when I looked so rang was told they had a set of stage 2 to the Deckspeed specs on the shelf. I'd have to dig out the spec sheet to see if is the same as yours although I suspect they will be. Seems only differences between us is I'm running drop mounts with heavy duty engine mounts and a full GWR exhaust - sport max headers, helmholtz with cat mid pipe & super Q muffler (had to #2 header pipe shortened by 10mm because was hard on the column... ggrrrrr - supposedly for Aus car! Meant had to get ceramic coating done again), I've removed the ERG valve and are running a high flow filter. My engine had done 70K and I thrashed it around for a 1000K before it went on the dyno to make sure the rings were free & sealing properly.
Tarin in Clontarf did my tune (Ecutek) & I'm thinking of going back & loading a 2nd map with the full advance so I can switch between them as required. He was pleased to hear I was using the 2L injectors because the impedance & response time is different to the 2.5L which would have meant more time on dyno & setting up - $$$$$$
Part of the build plan was to do a couple of track days but haven't been able to make it yet. Being a track virgin it's something a need to grow some & try it out. I have enjoyed a couple of "spirited" Sunday club runs so am looking forward to the day I make it.
I read in your later posts that you don't like your clutch pedal. Mine was really low after the change & I can tell you lengthening the pedal pushrod is a PAIN. What I found invaluable was to use a 10mm brake hose spanner (heavy ring spanner with split for pipe).
