NB8B Front sway bar into NA8

Postby Red_Bullet » Mon Jul 22, 2019 11:32 pm

NB8B Front sway bar into NA8 Clubman. Thinking about sticking a 22mm NB8B Fornt sway bar into my Clubman. I have adjustable end links. Any known issues with this swap?

Pretty sure you just need the adjustable links and you should be good. Might need spacers* for the sway bar to get it to sit straight.

*lots of washers

99% sure that NA8 and NB8A front bars are not interchangeable. The setup of the bar ends is different. I'd assume that applies to NB8B as well. I would compare them side by side before buying.

Looks like it can be done with adjustable end links, which I have. I'm going to pick up an NB bar tomorrow.

Got the 22mm front sway bar from Automotive Plus, Superpro sway bar bushings on the way. I have adjustable end links so hopefully should be smooth sailing. Gonna stick the 949 racing dual purpose alignment on it and get rid of some* of my negative camber, that way I can drive it to Warwick (Morgan Park) and back. Trying to get rid of the over-steer that this thing has.

Fitting the NB 22mm front sway bar to NA8 Clubman, was straight forward with Superpro bushes and Supermiata adjustable end links. The end links were supplied with the required spacers so no washers required. Simple. Only dríven it locally around the block but it feels crisper on turn in, feels more like my NB. Booked for an alignment on Wednesday. :D 8) 8)

One thing that I noticed when I had the bars side by side is that the endlink position is about 12 mm closer to the centre of the bar, so this would stiffen it as well as the 2mm bigger diameter.
