Re: Lachlan's NA8B
Just stumbled back across this thread. The car has been off the road now for nearly two years after I parted the car out.
I’ve finally bought another NB8B donor car and I’m getting stuck back in! Very excited to have my pride and joy back.
Also had the floor dropped on the drivers side 40mm so I fit (I’m 6ft 5) and the engine bay, boot and cabin sandblasted and ready for a fresh respray

Any chance you can share some more photos of the cut lines and additions you’ve done for the floor drop?

Very cool floor drop, keen to see more as well.
If you had access to a car like this, would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Sorry for the late reply. It’s had a new frame rail installed and all the seams welded too

Howdy!
the top of the new rail section looks like it is flush with the original floor height. How are you achieving a drop in floor height? It looks like the new rail is quite a bit lower, I assume to allow for some rail to remain below the height of a lower floor.

The last picture posted was before the old/new rail was cut down to the correct height for the floor to be reinstalled. The picture above shows the actual height when the rail is cut correctly.
Here are some more photos
