Aussie dynos must have a problem cos the Americans claim 200 on theirsor horses have different power down here.
Just a bit more on this. The main guys in the US for the 2.5 swap are Dynotronics, Moto-east(Xtreme) and Goodwin. Lets just say that they are very good at building a market! As such, you have to read the stuff they put out very carefully and be aware that they want to sell products. A good example is one of them claiming their 2.5 build hits 200 rwhp. You have to read well into one of the threads before they give up the gem that this engine uses a larger header, and crucially, the Moto-east intake, I'd put money on it being a carless mid pipe too. You could very easily be led to believe this was a stock engine. Now add in that they are probably using a dyno that reads high, (who wouldn't if you're in business to sell performance products) and you can see how it's possible to find another 25-30rwhp.
Another buyer beware is the tune. A lot of folks in the US seem to just go for the flash tune but here in Australia, no one I talked to was prepared to do a flash tune, it had to be done on a dyno and that costs another $1000. I believe if time isn't important, you could buy a tune from the US, get them to post you a cable and then spend time sending log files back and forth but from what I'd read, this can take weeks getting the tuner in the US to respond with updated files.
