That is the part number on my order. I sent them the part numbers of my current cops as well as a picture of the setup. It took half a dozen emails to get the right part.

Give them an email and mention my name (Mark Collingwood) and ask.

To close this loop, Magpie are you saying that the 90919-02244 are not suitable? As stated above, having used these for an extended period without issues (albeit not a high mileage in that time, because racecar), was that just luck? Is there a reason I should stop quoting that part number in threads such as this? I may have missed something in the above, but I am a bit confused ...

when I searched EFY solutions with he Number 503 it came up with an old fashioned Coil pack. The type we used on the NA's & early NB';s OEM.

Thats why I questioned it.

"The magpie" has gone a little further. He's found out what is suitable for his application from Bosch directly. Thats not to say the Bosh Cop for a Yaris doesn't work on the Mx5. Just one that works for his. hes found the actual product Number for a Toyota COP & got the one EFI solutions sell. EFI solutions use a different code or SKU for thier own purpose.

when you google the Bosch code it comes up as a Supra OEM COP. that sounds like one of many options whch will work on the Mx5

Ive decided to go ahead with the new ones.

I figure since its harder to start E85. Even though the battery is strong it looses omph as you start in colder mornings. it takes 5 or 6 goes now while a month ago it would start on the first or 2nd.

No that part number is correct. I have 8 COPS at home and 3 different part numbers!

I’m not sure if my miss fire is COP, plug or other issue related. Since the car is getting a complete rewire soon I may as well start off with new COPS as well.

I have gone for the Bosch because they are more tolerant to voltage drop and this has been an ongoing issue in the car. Whilst it is not as bad as previous it is still there.

Set of Toyota 1ZZ-FE 1.8L 2000+ Coils $50-75 (many other coils work, including Toyota Corolla, Tundra, MR-2, Celica, Camry…). Try to avoid getting the #1 coil off of 1MZ-FEs (3.0 V6 from the Camry, Highlander, RX300, ES300 etc.) as they often like to die.

That MT.net quote is interesting. I have no idea (now) what mine came off, although I probably was told something at the time I bought them from the wrecker. There were only four, I remember because if there had been more I would have bought a spare or two, so not off a six.

The 1zzfe coils on my engine have part no. #90919 02262 on them and are made by Denso.
No problems with these for around 10k km.

Arrived today! Since the car is going in for a complete re-wire I decided to replace the COPS, plugs etc to make sure that there are no 'unkowns' in the equation. However using a different brand of COP in itself maybe an unknown. Plus I am going to IK24 plugs and have never run these before. So much for removing variables I guess...

Here is some data on the new setup. Repeat of my facebook post. I may stop duplicating Facebook posts on here as it can be time consuming or I may have to post in a different section if I start linking sponsors etc...

IQQR 052319R2 is the new setup.
Bosch (0 986 AG0 503) from EFI Solutions. Plugs Denso IK24

IQQR 022119R3 previous setup.
OEM toyota ones and VDO branded COPs. Plug wise HKS M40i and for a few sessions an NGK 5671A-8 (non resistor

RPM smoother with new setup and EGT's show a better response to throttle.

EGT's for each cyl and each setup. There maybe a small difference in the plugs heat range as the Denso are slightly warmer (on average)
