It’s ALIVE!!!! :mrgreen: Well, kind of....... now, left to do;

A much thicker earthing wire, new turbo gasket (the last one blew out today...again  ), finish the new speedo setup and modify the exhaust for the 4th time (at the moment, the section nearest the new diff needed some remoulding and has endured a few heavy hammer “love taps” to squeeze it in  .
(it now looks like a cooked sausage that has gone cold and been sitting on a dinner plate in the fridge for a few hours.)

A new engineering inspection and certification is organised, and some tidy up with the tuning after being idle for such a long time (and seeing as the driveline can now take it.....a power run at the same time with mooaar POWER AND BOOOOST!)

Today’s short run was had for just few minutes on dry cold roads and cold tyres before torrential rain set in, BAH F*#K  ..... but the main thing is everything feels right and balanced after a 20 odd minutes worth of easy driving. So for now, the Problem Child has been yet again locked, secured, relegated to and haunting a dark quiet corner with an evil look in its eyes till I get back from China. I cant wait to have the last little bits mentioned sorted ASAP (hopefully in the few days after I get back) and have that long awaited run since starting this latest chapter.
(Some pics of the drive shaft yoke rework) :DIY:

Man, that drive shaft is beefy!

I bet it was fun getting back in the Problem Child, even if just for a few minutes of easy cruise. Heavily modded cars can be a drain when dríven all the time, but stepping back into them after some time away is a glorious feeling!

So true mate! Daz told me of the big smirk on my face after the quick 1st test run with him in the passenger seat

The exhaust section to get around the new setup is in, just the speedo to finish up (as well as some tidy up bits, including a new turbo gasket that needs replacement for the 3rd time)
Check out the “love taps” required to get the exhaust together enough to get the problem child down to the exhaust workshop)

Closer and closer! How low is that low point of the exhaust? Anything to worry about?

How was the China trip?

It’s actually not that low- definitely not anything to worry about, I forgot to get a photo after it was finished, but I’ll have one up shortly!

How was the China trip?

Yeah!

China is awesome, some of what I anticipated but nothing of what I expected. All scooters are electric, hardly any smog in the big cities, they really have their act together. It was an eye opener- and the people are fantastic

Post Cadillac diff and BMW gearbox installation, time to finish up on the exhaust modification, new speedo setup, a good service of fresh oil and filter coupled with a thicker earthing wire, a grind down of the exhaust manifold and new gaskets for both that and the turbo- new turbo oil line plumbing and a bit of general wear and tear maintenance, a tidy up of the battery terminals with new terminal ends- 2 little hail size dents in the front left fender and rear right quarter panel to be sorted and a quick plug into the tune in the next 2 weeks to make sure all is happy with the Haltech.

I can now say the Problem Child is a full on Eurasian, it has the body and heart of a Japanese, a German spine and a big fat Yankee ass!

What’s with the turbo manifold?
Bigger turbo to go on? Now that you have the Chorman Spine?

Nah STM.... same turbo (GT2871R) to stay at this stage, just a few more lbs of boost to go in on the next power run a few months from now.

I’m pretty sure we have it already done mate, but I’ll check in with mechanic Daz to make sure
