Well getting it back in was a heck of a lot easier than getting it out. I did need to fiddle around with the angle and gearbox angle as well as using a crow bar.
I also wouldn’t recommend doing this job with a dislocated thumb!
I’ve just got to try amd remember where all the plumbing and electrics hook up now!

Unusual, it's usually easier to disassemble than reassemble. :?

Getting close now. Just got the exhaust manifold and mid pipe to fit then oil and coolant. Will get a couple of hours on Thursday so hopefully will be ready by the weekend - all except the tune anyway!

I’ve hacked an old Haltech and custom built my own ecu package pretty simple really. I’m thinking of offering it for sale in the US.

Do other people wear a watch whilst spannering? Mine must’ve taken a few too many knocks as it’s running a day slow.

I've broken a few watches doing other stuff so I stopped wearing them. With everyone carrying mobile phones it has really made them redundant. I only wear a GPS watch whilst running (and that too is at risk of getting broken).

I finished putting everything back together this arvo and filled the Tart up with fluids. I was nervously checking for leaks but so far so good.
I noted it took pretty much bang on 6 litres of coolant and 5.9 litres of oil. The coolant might need topping up, I’ll keep an eye on it but the engine started first time (i fully recharged the battery) and ran surprisingly smoothly given it’s on the stock 2.0 tune. I let it warm up then ran in the new cams keeping an eye on the coolant level and looking out for leaks.
I also tried the aircon which ran perfectly.
So far so good. I’ll take her out for fuel tomorrow then off for a tune as soon as I can get some dyno time.
I won’t be opening her up til I get the tune done so it will be a little longer before I can post my thoughts.
Pretty chuffed though. :D

Thanks guys

Here’s a quick clip. The audio makes it sound tappety but isn’t.
Does need a better muffler now though :D
