Sorry if this is already posted elsewhere but I couldn't find it.
Well I have been putting up with this squeaking type noise from the front over small bumps for around 6 years (don't drive it much).
From time to time I tried spray lube on all the suspension bushes without getting an improvement.
In the end I read on another forum that it could be the Bonnet lock...which had never occurred to me.
Sure enough, applied some spray lube to it and the noise has gone.
Thought I'd post here just in case it helps someone else in the future find it a little quicker than I

Did you notice any movement of the bonnet at speed? I did with mine (NA6). On inspection part of the bonnet hook was worn allowing minor movement when the wind pushed against the bonnet.
Adding adhesive pads (the kind you stick on chair legs to prevent scratches to the floor) to the bonnet rubber stops fixed the movement.
Not your issue I know, just thought I’d share.

Well it's funny you should mention that. Because in the threads where I found the suggestion that led to my solution, I also noticed comments about how movement and noise could occur in other places with the bonnet. As you say with the hook, with the hinges and even just adjusting the rubber stops at the front. Just had mine out tonight up in the Dandenongs and for the first time I noticed movement at speed of the bonnet along the join with the drivers guard. So I reckon I've got some more work to do on tidying all that up.
