welcome back indeed!
I like where you're going with the headlight cover, add some some crafty airbox crafting and you should get decent air whenever you're moving

Re: Speed's boosted NA6
Ok so a bit has happened lately..
I hosted a dodgy day last Thursday and a few of us (STM, Bear2330, two40, Jason G and Jason H) pulled the tired motor and box from car. I'd already removed the head so the process was farely simple.
We then went about separating the motor and box that I'd recently purchased from mania, fitted my xtreme clutch and bolted on the exhaust manifold, RX8 injectors, alternator, belts etc.
Then on another day my nephew and I fitted a new Bosch clutch slave, mazda speed engine mounts (both mine were broken!), added my plated cam cover. Then I cleaned the absolute bejeezus out of it, whilst my nephew cleaned the tranny tunnel and bottom half of the engine bay, then we set about fitting the motor and box.
She now looks like this...
(Oh wait, I've forgotten how to add pics in tapatalk...)

The motor as purchased from Mania. I've never seen such a clean motor inside!
Apparently belonged to a club member who took great care of it and serviced to date... the cam cover, cams are mint!
The ute I borrowed. Oh yeah and I left the legal industry and am now a plumber.

Re: Speed's boosted NA6
We had a bit of a miscommunication on the dodgy day and unfortunately my clutch plate was installed back to front.
I only realised when I went to test drive the car with the new motor... couldn't engage any gear whilst the engine was running as the plate was jammed on the flywheel.
So STM came round today and we both ripped in, dropped the box, pulled the clutch, inspected, cleaned and refit in the correct orientation. So much harder whilst the gearbox was in the car but what do you do..
Here we are both doing our first gearbox pull on a mx5... as STM later corrects me he has done clutches before. I'd never done either on a mx5.
STM really is the man. So grateful for the extra pair of hands.. and socket extensions! Lol

Now she needs a wash. I'm also not getting full throttle so will recalibrate the TPS, adjust the accelerator cable and also want to re adjust the clutch pedal to centre the travel. So happy to have my baby back on the road again

Seriously Speed, I was regretting volunteering when I found out we were going to pull the box only....
I really didn’t think at around lunch time wed finish this ..... ever. Let alone today. Starting was slow. But once momentum was gained. We finished.
Great work. 1st time I pulled a gearbox only on an MX5 . But not my first clutch job by any means.

Great to hear she is up and running again, you have to be proud of what you have achieved. I'm happy that my small contribution got her back on the road that little bit sooner.
