I use Rustoleum LeakSeal flexible rubber coating. You can get it at Bunnings in a spray can for $15.90 and there is also a clear version too.

This place is a mine of information. That sounds like it would do the job. By the time it goes hard and starts to deteriorate I will have gone hard and deteriorated also.
