Colour's not unlike the popular 1998-2000 Evo Gold aka Evo Orange.

so essentially you get to pay even more for a different colour. So much for cheaper MX5s -that honeymoon did not last long. And the better engine should have been available from the start of ND - the engine certainly was underpowered based on what others could do. I still think Mazda have got the ND wrong - they still don't have a retractable proper roadster that was achieved with the NC and the RF is just not the same.

Colour will be a darker orange. Similar to what was used on certain NC GT’s in Europe. I’d upload a picture, but I’ve never figured out how. It will have the usual Recaro seats, Brembo brakes, Bilstein shocks and the BBS wheels. Not quite sure on the Kuroi pack just yet. Limited to only 30 in certain countries and thankfully all soft tops.
Form is temporary.Class is permanent.

I'm 100% with Mr Morlock here. I've just looked up the Canadian pricing. Over there they still offer the base model but it comes standard with the upgraded 2.0L engine not the puny 1.5. Price? Can $32,900 before on-roads. Given the Canadian dollar is line ball with ours and the Canadian market volume is also line ball it proves, yet again, that Mazda Australia is only interested in one thing - hoovering your wallet for all its worth.
Not sure if the Canadian version comes standard with an LSD so that is a point of difference. I would really like the base model here to have the option of the 2.0L at a fair price and can't understand why it is no longer offered. Yes Morlock....the honeymoon is now a distant memory.

Colour should have been Lava Orange (or is that reserved for MSMs?)
Agree that a darker orange may "help" vs the photos shown in the original article but I wonder in an "AE Blue", Burgundy or British Racing Green may have been a more popular colour choice.
At least it's not as bad as some of the Hyundai colours, they look like the factory ran out of paint between the undercoat and top clear-coat stages but kept pumping them out the factory anyway.

Was there a 20AE NC ever created? I remember there being a flash version at the time with Recaro seats?
