GW header replaced with a Racing Beat one, no touching now. There must be about one cm difference in the bends to allow clearance on the RHD cars.
Cams swapped, the difference is amazingly noticable. The original swap had a massive hit of torque down very low (as most mention) but power fell off a cliff up around 5500rpm. The motor has a gruffness throughout the whole range, you new it was a different motor.
Now the car is 2lt smooth, if you didnt know any work had been done you would think it was just a bloody quick 2lt car. Power is around 30kw up from the original 2lt setup now but the massive dump of torque down low is gone, it is very linear now, smooth delivery thru the whole range and keeps pulling up high in the rev range.

In hindsite, cams should be part of the engine swap from the get go, it keeps the character of the car, just provides more zoom zoom

Interesting. Which cams did you go for?

A very mild set deckspeed got for me. The engine revs now, but is super smooth. Not a massive jump in power but delivery is very linear, just like the stock 2lt

Hope you’re still loving the 2.5? I just fitted a 4.1 and it does make a big difference.

I just saw a low km 2.0 up for sale for a mere $3k

Anyone want to offer me $2k for mine, I’m starting my swap soon

Very much still loving it, back to sandown on Saturday for a trackday. The extra revs now are much enjoyed. Waiting to hear about a new more aggressive set of cams someone is trying soon to aim for more power, its addictive.

I saw that this morning, looks like its going to be $2500 -$3000 US for the kit. Not really the sort of thing I would be down for.
I am more than happy working locally (within Aus) to get where I want. The power is addictive so its hard to stop. My biggest issue is keeping it all
very drivable every day, and so far I am there.

Does a 2.5 conversion bump you into a difft class for racing? Or is it allowed? Or do you just don't tell anyone?

I don’t want to spend $100 incl shipping and taxes for the Massive balance shaft delete kit when it just looks like a bolt will do the job.
Does anyone know what size/spec bolt to use?
