Agree. I've got a couple of months before the next track day but it does feel more planted/stable at the softer setting. I've just run up 250km of back roads this morning in the Bimmer, so need to unlearn that and get the MX-5 out tomorrow. I'll still be keen to see what happens after Accurate Suspensions have had a look at the MX-5.

Lol, yeah, Max was pretty nervous which made me nervous and the lap times went nowhere. A bit like running frantically on the spot - lots of cardio and no progress.

Good news though: Jax are having a 4 for the price of 3 offer starting today. I have ordered a set of Hankook R-S4s. Four 215/45 x 17 for $567. Yeesssss!

Back from Accurate Suspensions. Front camber backed off, caster increased and toe adjusted.
Advice is to try it out and, if it feels loose at the rear or oversteery, set the rear sway bar to soft setting (currently mid).
The car feels good on the road at 10 clicks toward soft on the dampers.

Just waiting for the R-S4s to arrive...

He has a good collection of magazines....and then I was distracted by a rather warmed over E82 135i that rolled up next door.

Update.

I achieved a best ever PB at Lakeside on 8 Feb of 68.38 seconds - down by about 0.3 second achieved a couple of years ago.

I felt far more confident because the "squirrelly under brakes" issue was cured and the turn in and balance was just right - thanks to the wheel alignment by Ken Graham (Accurate Suspensions). The rest I put down to those R-S4 tyres.

Now I just need a prescription for brave pills and I'll get it down into the 67s.

Well done. I've been keeping an eye out for some 225/45/15 RS4s, but I just can't ever seem to find them in stock.

The 215/45 x 17s just happened to come up at Jax before Xmas on a "4 for the price of 3" deal.

Mind you, it's worth checking around. I got a sensational price on Kumho PS71 for the Bimmer at my local Bob Jane - even cheaper than the price offered by Tyresales.
