Quick update. I’ve ordered a set of MCA reds with 12/6 springs. Time will tell if this works both on track and for Mrs Tart!

FWIW, I put MCA Street Essentials on our 135i and they transformed it. Mrs JBT reckons they're good too.

Do you have any feedback on the Reds with the 12/6 combo as a dual purpose set up?

Yep sure.
I was told by MCA there wouldn’t be any settling in and on the first two drives I found the ride a fair bit harsher than the Bilstein/Eibachs.
However, I then did a couple of 2 hour drives and a track day and found the harshness really went away.
The main difference now is only felt on rougher sections and bigger potholes and cracks where the car does crash a fair bit more.
My wife daily drives the car and hasn’t noticed any difference!
Honestly, if it was a pure road car or saw limited track use with a novice driver I’d say the Bilstein/Eibach set up is a fair bit nicer, you can add the RX8 sway bars to give a very sporty feel all without anywhere near the cost.
The Reds are different class at 8 tenths plus on a track though so if you’re serious about track work I’d recommend them.

You probably just got used to the bumps. Going from a softly sprung car to a stiffer sprung car, you'll always notice the difference. But ride in the stiffly sprung car enough, and you'll somehow for get there is difference, or begin to think the difference is much smaller than you first thought.

Yeah, I did think this might be the case, no real way of knowing short of sticking the old stuff back on. I heard lots of feedback that the ride quality improved from people fitting Ohlins coilovers but their spring rates were too soft for full on track use (7/5 I believe) so I figured if the reds were unbearable I'd sell them and try the Ohlins but I can't see that happening now. I got some feedback on the 12/6 springs from a forum member that gave me enough confidence to give it a go.
