Jeeze! That is a lot of money, the up side is that it seems to be a complete solution, at least until you start making stupid power. I think that it is beyond my means, but I will still follow your progress with close interest.

:mrgreen:
I never met a horsepower I didn't like (thanks bwob)

Its not about the money. Its about the alcoholic problem child misbehaving.
Im just concerned that Daffy will get jack of it one day. And there will be no more adventures.

I’d say I’m still on volume 1 of a several volume series of the adventure’s of the Problem Child, no fears of the story coming to an end anytime soon StanTheMan! As for solid gold death proof ducks, RE the darling wife, Magpie may be spot on (for now :wink: :lol: ).
I know the outlay is big at this stage, but hopefully after recouping some $$$ from the sale of the Rebuilt SE box, clutch, PPF, tailshaft, short shifter, I’m hoping to bring all this in under $7k.
The long term should see cheap off the shelf clutch options later down the line when needed (as great as what it is, Jim Berry’s clutch didn’t come cheap), saving some $ as well as having a lot more confidence in the driveline. I guess the problem child up until now was like seeing a body builder at the gym that only works out the top half but has skinny un trained legs- time to put some muscle in below the belt line!! :twisted:
(More parts pic’s, including the Bevis short shifter next to the new Kmiata BMW short shift)

So after waiting a week for the hoist at the mechanics to be cleared, the BMW 6 speed transplant begins. So far all the components are slotting in well. The only bugbear at this stage is the custom 3 inch exhaust system, the 4 odd inch catback sits right where the brace recess- so a short section of the exhaust system is going in for a bit of rework........ more to come, cant wait to test out this new setup! :mrgreen:

One day I'll find the right wife. A dumb rich nymphomaniac with a car hoist.

She doesn't look Eurasian.

Regards the exhaust, just leave it off and fit a side pipe!

RE the picture, its the best I could find for the German/Japanese theme :lol:
.......... side pipe huh, mmmmmm- may look into the compliance issues for that one, but a very viable idea :BROADY:

Kmiata BMW 6 speed transplant update;
Frame rails are now bolted in and are looking rock solid, with some slight fab work for running the lines. The custom exhaust system needs a bit of re tweeking to get it fitting around the new bracing, but that will be sorted later this week after it gets trailered down to the fabricators workshop (either that or drive it down minus the exhaust and blow the eardrums out of anyone within a 2 km radius!! We got to get a working speedo set up sorted too. A quick test fit of the mod plate on the Beemer box, but so far all going as planned :mrgreen: :DIY:
