Most notably, increased horsepower, a new 7500RPM rev limit (rev's are higher and peak power is at 7000 RPM which is a new Miata landmark) and increased torque and a telescoping steering wheel. Things that enthusiast Miata owners have been asking about for a while now.

Yes, big changes for the MX5. Even made the cover of the current Wheels magazine.

Just a follow up to say I contacted Cameron at Blue Mountains Mazda and they hit it out of the park for me! Cameron and his brother Andrew worked with me over the last few days, and I need to announce: I will have my 2019 MX-5 in about a month! They went through a fair bit of work, just to secure the colour and package I wanted! Well done!
I would like to thank all those that steered me in the right direction on this forum, and also Blue Mountains Mazda for taking care of me! The vehicle will be a classic 2019 Mazda MX-5 GT roadster. Red exterior/Black interior with a SOFT-TOP, my preferred choice, with a manual transmission, of course! They threw in a few bells and whistles as well and I also ordered the rear deck spoiler for fun. Thanks Cameron and Andrew for providing excellent customer service that was not available locally!! Cannot wait to head to the Blue Mountains and drive her back soon....

Yep that's how they roll at Blue Mountains Mazda. Cameron and Andrew are awesome "car guys". They get it. It doesn't end with the order either. They'll keep you in the loop through the whole delivery process. I bought my 2015 ND from them and would definitely do it again ... despite the 2.5hr drive each way.

BTW you should look at joining the MX-5 Club of NSW. We don't have a chapter in Wagga but we do have members in town. They're very active in the Canberra Chapter and organise the odd weekend trip in the Riverina area.

Thanks Guran! I will check them out. Canberra isn’t too far from me so I’ll have to get involved. Can’t wait till I take possession late November!

That's great news - congrats! I've seen/heard about the Blue Mountains Mazda guys on the YouTubes - it's good to hear another rave review on them. I'm picking up my ND2 (can we call it that?) tomorrow (ordered in May!)

Here yar - an opportunistic pic rather than a staged one I'm afraid.
I'm completely stoked with it, I have to say. Let me know if you've got any specific questions or would like a photo of something in particular/close-ups/whatever.
I'm also looking forward to meeting the Brisbane mx5 crew at one of the events.. I'll keep my eyes peeled for that!

That Eternal Blue is so much nicer than the Reflex Blue of the old model. I still think they should release it in Dynamic Blue Mica like the original brochure showed. Sunflower Yellow would also be cool

I would've gone the Sunflower Yellow if they'd offered that - colours for new cars these days definitely seem to be focussed on the white/grey/black/blue side (with some red). Admittedly I have seem some horrible colours on a couple of new Toyotas (Carollas and Rav4s) like orange or something, but yeah, seems colours are limited. It has been a long time since I saw yellow. I do love the new soul reds, but the blue felt better (or something).
What colour did you go with Joel?

Looks awesome!! The blue was my second choice, but I went with the soul red. Haven’t had a red car in a while and that red really looks interesting.

Unfortunately it's what sells and few companies are willing to take a gamble and produce stock that may sit for a long time:

My last 2 cars have been white but only because the only colours offered have been white, black, silver and grey. Soooo boring. I'd buy almost any other colour though blue is a personal favourite.
Blue is increasing in popularity in the sports car segment and has been for a few years now but it's still below 10% globally with certain regions approaching 20%. Green is also on the slow increase for all model segments but I think it's going to be some time before we see a wide range of bright colours commonly available.
