The last round for Mx5 & 86 race event is on 3/4 November 2018.
All the previous race events have seen a strong field of those trying door to door for the first time and the season regulars.
There have been battles all through the field and what better way to dip those toes in for the first time than at this event.
Any questions re requirements throw them below.

With the MX5 day there are generally time based classes, to reflect the many battle packs that happen.
On a normal event we run CAMS 2F & 2B rules that can be found here http://docs.cams.com.au/Manual/Race/RA16-Group-2B-2F-Eligible-Comb-2018-3.pdf

Re: PSCRAQ MX5 & 86 Challange QR 3/4 Nov 2018
Well said Tim. I'll just add that it really is a great way for those new to racing to come along and have a go without the added excitement of sharing the track with the very fast GT Class cars.
I've had an absolute blast for the whole weekend at every one of these events I have entered. For anyone ‘thinking of having a go’ this is the very best place to try it out.
Don't worry if you haven't got a mega-quick stripped out racing machine; Tim already has that end of the grid covered, and the field ranges all the way to almost standard 1600s. Whatever your level there will be someone to race against.
The last event was conclusively won by MX-5s because there were… zero 86 / BRZ entries What a shame not to have the usual on-track battle. So if anyone reading this has got an 86 or BRZ or knows someone who has, please pass this on.

Are the MX5 & 86 Challenge events expected to continue next year?
Are there any requirements to getting a RACERS National Racing License beyond just buying it (similar to the CAMS lectures and OLT)?

The racers licenses just requires you to have some sighted laps.
You can get an event license for the weekend so you don't have to splash out for the full thing and you just need the AASA clubman license (uased for sprints).
AASA will recognise a CAMS racing license if you already have one of those for races, you just need to by the AASA clubman license.
As for if these will continue next year, I am not sure. This is the 3rd year they have done these and the turn out for the first event was small, the 2nd one was cancelled as it was the weekend before another of the clubs events at MP, and a lot of the mx5s competing in the weren't going to attend. This is the last one for the year and i'm not sure how the numbers are looking at the moment.
I doubt the club will continue to do them unfortunately if the turn out is low again.

I have a CAMS racing license, but its well expired. Don't think that would count for anything.
Unfortunately I'm unable to do this one, but hopefully they will continue next year in which case I'm in. I'll probably come and do PSCRAQ meetings regardless.

Is this happening next year? What other options are available for MX5's? I'm wondering if the Prod Sports series is continuing as well?

Yeah, there is an mx5/86 challenge scheduled for next year, 1 day event at lakeside, around august IIRC.
Production Sports is continuing as well, with 6 rounds planned for next year, 2 lakeside, 1 QR and 3 Morgan Park rounds. First round is Lakeside in March.
The only other option I can think of for door-to-door is QR Sports & Sedans - they're not eligible for IPR or Production Touring Cars. I think the ND might be allowed in Prod Touring next year.
If you have any questions about Prod sports, let me know.
