ESC stability light coming on.

Postby pdubpdub » Mon Oct 08, 2018 12:30 pm

Hi everyone
My first post. My 2007 NC which I have owned for six months has the ESC light coming. I assume that this tells me that the stability control is not operating. Where do I start to track down the problem, I assume I would heck the fuse first what else. any suggestions
regards

From memory the light will operate in one of 3 situations.

1: You've pressed the button to deactivate it, the light is a warning that it's not active currently.

2: It's currently working, as in it's currently doing it's thing to stop wheelspin or other control loss (granted, normally if it;s doing this it will be only during the slide etc, and will usually be flashing)

3: It's broken and not working, the lights is to warn you of this.

...or the power was interrupted i.e. battery disconnect/reconnect.
With the ignition on, turn the steering fully right, then fully left, check DSC light is off. Switch ignition off and then on to make sure the light is off.
If this doesn't work, something is probably broken.
