Finally got the Tart in full on JDM mode
Got the mobile tyre fitter out to fit the NT01’s

Can you tell I’m not running coil overs yet? Looks like a 4x4  Stock wheel/tyre combo doesn’t give the same visual effect but is the same diameter.

The 235 width is a perfect fit on the 9” rim. Will probably need a roll when lowered.

Nice man, after I took my wife's daily previously I decided not to share and ended up buying her another car.

That green is pretty bright, no hiding about who did what on the track now.

I’m planning on doing the same and having it as a less compromised road registered track car. I don’t really do a commute and have a couple of other options plus my wife loves driving the Tart so for now I’m just enjoying making it a bit more fun bit by bit.
Here’s a pic of some other past toys I’ve enjoyed tinkering with.

Had a fun day at Lakeside on Friday although I only managed the morning session as I had a broken wire to one of the COPs which led to an intermittent misfire. I had a ton of help tracing the fault from the MX5 guys in attendance plus a couple of top BMW lads too. This is what I love about the Sprints, it's a social event with a bunch of driving thrown in.
The car was VERY different to the last time I was there and felt a total handful. I had removed the RX8 front sway bar which had the desired effect of neutralising the understeer but it also left the car feeling very floppy pretty much everywhere.
The next change was the fatter, 235/40 NT01's which totally overwhelmed the chassis. If I wasn't about to drop a 2.5 in I'd be back to the 205's in a heart beat.
I did go .5sec quicker this time but really had a heap more time in me, at least another second . Hard to tell if the extra pace came from the extra grip or ability to get the power down out of the corners.
I'll upload a vid shortly but my garmin virb doesn't deal with the exposure contrast very well so the footage wasn't great.

Not a quick lap but at least the exposure is half decent. It also shows how quick an M140i is, it just clears off down the straight!

No changes to the car this month, been busy setting up a new business.
I have entered the Noosa Hillclimb in November. It should be a fun weekend, the family are coming with me and we’re staying in an Airbnb so ai can go play cars and they can go to the beach

With imminent and much needed thunderstorms due tomorrow, today was a perfect day for a trip over Mt Glorious and round lakes Somerset and Wivenhoe. Can’t believe there’s such an amazing route on my doorstep. Mid week there was hardly a car in sight for almost 3 hours of twisties and stunning scenery.

Would have been a great day for it!

If you're on the Northside, or willing to go for a little trek, going over Mt Mee, then up Belthorpe Range into Malaney is a great run.

It's been too long since I've had a fun run.

I’ve been planning a Mt Mee trip as I’ve only got as far as the Pit Stop cafe. I’m just off the road to Dayboro so it probably classes as another local route for me.

Be sure to seek out Belthorpe Range road then, it's got an excellent section of switchback turns and hairpins up a fairly steep grade. Just beware if anyone is coming the other way, it's quite tight but usually empty of traffic.
