Clutch for NC

Postby magenb » Mon Sep 10, 2018 3:03 pm

Hey Guys,

What do you recomend clutch wise for an NC?
I had an exedy HD clutch put in about 3 years ago and its slipping already just with normal daily driving, I like the feel of the that clutch but the price has gone up siginficantly since then and its the shortest life span I've had on a clutch.

The Xtreme Heavy Duty clutch is close to the Exedy OEM replacement clutch kit cost, any one used them?

I had the extreme clutch in my car a while ago. It was sh!t. When the gearbox, clutch got heat soaked it was just about impossible to change gears. The plug has was adjusted several times with no fix. Also it shuddered all the time.

I now have a Exedy stage 1 or 2 clutch with Fidanza flywheel and I love it. Very close to OEM specs.

How many km did you get on your HD clutch??
MY07 NC, Mazdaspeed Body, Ohlins, Full GWR Exhaust, 17x9 RPF1's, 4.1FGR and lots lots more

less than 80,000 KM. technically it in the expected life range, but no track days and its pretty lucky to see the speed imit. I think I'll put the same thing back in, just a bit surprised I guess.

For a HD clutch that doesn't get abused in a low power light weight car. That is a short life span for a clutch. I would've expect much longer.

I'm at 130,000km on the original and this car has been tracked and hill climbed from the first month of its life.

Clutch life is obviously dependant upon driving style.
