I don't think the tyre is hitting the fender, it's the liner and the "spats" on the rear arches of the SE. At least, that's what it is for me in my car.
I've just picked up some shock spacers from our good friends at Beavis Motorsports that I hope will solve my problem. I'll be doing some install and testing soon.

Not particularly recommending any particular manufacturer but the info about setting ride height/ bump travel is important, I had to do my Coilover setup twice after discovering this info. Ride height is set by spring perch adjustment, NOT by Shock body length. Magpie has had a lot of input into this same subject on another post here somewhere.

I get what MCA have published (have their product on the BMW) but Tein (have Flex Z on the MX-5) recommend the opposite.

I would like to raise the rear of the MX-5 by about 5mm but have to maintain minimum recommended engagement in the lower "cup" if extending the shock body so, this change is barely achievable. The problem with raising the spring perch to lift the ride height by that amount, is that you end up with spring bind as others have discovered.
So confusing.

Not trying to derail this thread, but even BC Racing’s instructions is to set the ride height via the lower perch.
The reason they do not provide the instructions for setting length first then ride height via the spring perch is the time it takes. Most times out of the box is sufficient and good enough, however it may not be perfect.
I’m happy to help people set them up the long method if they have time (and I’m not busy).

This is the great thing about doing runs like these for those of us that dont get to see some regular track time- good networking and quality imput from those with the groundwork experience- definitely nil derailing the thread mate, this is the bonus of doing these runs and getting a good de briefing from it
