NC brake pedal travel - opinions please

Having done 2 Sprint days in my NC I’m still not happy with the amount of pedal travel.
I’ve fitted braided lines, A1RMS pads and Castrol race Dot4 fluid and whilst I had no fade issues at Lakeside I felt the travel was still long.
Has anyone else had a similar experience on track?
If any track drivers are in Brisbane it might help to meet up and compare?

FWIW I was doing 64 sec laps.

I guess the A1RMS pads are a different brand/compound to what was on it? Were the rotors machined?

Pads may still be being bedded in? Disc machining would speed this process, I never machine rotors 'tho. Air bubble in lines/ABS? Adjust freeplay stopper?

Yes previously it had oem pads but discs aren’t grooved at all so don’t think they need machining unless there’s another reason to machine them?

The pads have done 7 x 5 lap sessions at QR and 5 x 5 laps at Lakeside plus I followed the bedding in procedure prior to this. Would they still be bedding in?

Possibly has air. I’ll re-bleed to be doubly sure. Didn’t know it had a “freeplap stopper”, will look into that.

Agreed the ABS might mean it has to have more travel, keen to hear how others find their pedal travel on track?

Braking doesn't occur between the pad & steel rotor, but between the pad & pad material deposited on the rotor. Sometimes new pads won't work with old pad material. There is a short video on the home page of Brakes Direct.

Thanks, just watched the video and they specifically mentioned the A1RMS.

Update on this, i traced the issue to a worn copper washer on one of the brake hoses. Nice firm pedal, short and consistent travel. Had no issues at a recent track day.

Great news you found the cause, but could you elaborate on this. How was the washer effecting brake pedal travel? Leaking or letting air in?

Very slightly weeping. Probably only showed up under high pressure ie. after the last track day when I did my routine checks.
