Hi members
I have done a muffler delete and love the sound of my MX5. It burbles and crackles sound nice. Has anyone deleted their cat converter as well. Another words a straight through pipe. If so what does it sound like is it too loud or raspy. Or does it sound good.
Thanks in advance

Re: Exhaust question
I've dríven mine on open headers.
Didn't sound nice, verry tractor like, just really loud.
Have heard others with straight pipe and it just sounds kind of sh*t, raspy and meh.

Re: Exhaust question
You're looking at a huge fine ($10k rings a bell for NSW, probably differs state to state) if you remove the cat and get caught so unless it's a track car I don't think it's worth it even if it did sound marginally better. The exhaust I've got waiting to fit is catless. I'll be fitting it then driving it to the exhaust shop to a have a high flow cat installed, probably a 100 cell. Next best thing to a straight pipe but legal.

Re: Exhaust question
If you've done a rear muffler delete you'd still have the mid muffler/resonator. If you removed that I think it would sound rubbish.
