I was a bit harsh on the poor NA, locking the rears on change down  oops!

Actually it’s a 3.7

Just a little bit of prep fitting some braided brake lines from Brakes Direct before the next event at Lakeside. Now I have a half decent pedal but it’s still too long for my liking.
Whilst the rears were spot on the fronts weren’t an exact fit, I had to massage some plastic wheel arch trim to get enough clearance.

This NC build is moving along very nicely, 64 at Lakeside is impressive, I think I want an NC now.

I really enjoyed the regularity event at lakeside on the weekend. I got 4 sessions, each with about 5 laps to try and run as close to my nominated time of 68 secs per lap for every lap of every session. Not really having dríven Lakeside before and never in the NC it was a great way to really learn the circuit.

At the end of the day we were allowed 5 flying laps where we could choose to go as fast as we liked. During these laps I noticed the brake pedal was still a bit longer than I want and the car does have pretty bad understeer everywhere. I managed a 64, not too bad for 5 laps in a new car I reckoned. Heaps of time to come, still trying to work out the lines and gear selection - the lap below I tried 2nd for the Eastern Loop, won't be doing that again!

Good to see you getting out and using it. Lakeside can be a daunting place, well done :)

Just entered the QLD State Sprint Championship at Morgan Park in the 21st July.
A couple of things to sort before then including getting the rotors machined to see if that helps the brake travel and a proper alignment.
I’ve also started ordering parts for the 2.5 swap but no date yet on that.

See you there, the day will be on layout K (the full track) so not as many sessions as normal, but will still be worth it. It will also be a very cold start...

Make sure you read the regs as scrutineering will be an issue for some. For example since my car is not road registered I need a CAMS log book, at the moment I'm frantically getting the paperwork for the roll bar (done), arranging a PRE-LOGBOOK INSPECTION SCRUTINEER (almost done) the submitting the paperwork to CAMS. It is unlikely that I will have this done in time but the Porsche Club have a back up plan to help me :)

Also SDT has a Morgan Park track day in August that is well worth the money.

Thanks for that. Car is road registered and pretty much standard so should be ok from what I understood looking at the regs. I’ll do a final checklist.
I think I’m in the Sports cars 1600cc-2000cc class?
Early start for this one, it’s a good 2 hr drive but looking at your pic I’m glad the heating works a treat.
I’m also entering the Noosa hillclimb in Nov.

The Puma (BP) at Aratula is a great place to stop for coffee or breakfast :) We normally order 2 breakfasts and there is enough to feed the three of us Plus it has parking for trailers. It helps when it is only about a 90 min drive for me.

Was never entirely happy with the cut down RX8 bushes so I ordered a set of SuperPro poly ones for front and rear. Simple design difference being the side access slits negate the effects of clamping the bush and slightly deforming it. Should be a much better fit.

Actually it’s a 3.7

I found some info saying the US also got an open diff 4.3 ratio which looks to have been mated to a 5spd.
I actually like the 3.7 gearing on track but not street.
However, I’ve pulled the trigger on a 4.1 so will update a comparison once it’s fitted.

I will let you know what I think of the 4.1 after Sunday.
I did my change this week and whilst straight forward, I know I could do a second one much quicker.
