I haven't done anything about the EBJ's yet, but they are on the shopping list (along with lots of other things). The car goes for a wheel alignment Monday, so I'm hoping I can get just enough front camber with what i have for now, and not hurt the AD08r tyres at the track.
Not sure on how far I'll go with aero at this stage. The plan for this year is to get the car mechanically reliable and hopefully get some data logging sorted to track our progress. We will need to develop our suspension and handling but I will also need to keep in mind our future plans for aero as we do. The front lip currently fitted to the car was there when I bought it, and whilst I've never tracked the car before, I'd be surprised if it actually makes much of a difference. I always thought it was more an aesthetic addition to the car than a functional one. I'm actually considering taking it off for next weekend, as I think it's the only thing technically stopping me from running in the Street Class. I'll then work on a proper front splitter and rear wing when it comes time to look into the aero.

Yes, that is what we use, with additional freedoms and requirements set out in here. A big difference is that we can use tyres on CAMS street tyres list - ie R-specs except for Nittos.

Makes sense. The QLD Time Attack series has their own regs, and more classes. Not sure how well they align with the WTAC regs, but I will develop the car in line with the WTAC regs anyway, and slot into the QLD series in whichever class that puts me into.

Fitted up the fire extinguisher over the weekend. Wanted to retain the ability to adjust the passengers seat on the rails, so came up with this.
Firstly bent up a bracket using some 25mm x 3mm aluminium flat bar to be bolted into the side mounting holes in the Sparco Sprint.
Then once I had the right shape, I rounded the ends, and mounted the extinguisher bracket.
And then, just refitted the seat, and slotted the extinguisher into the bracket.
The passengers legs will easily clear the extinguisher and it's easy for me to reach from the drivers seat in case of an emergency.

At the WTAC inspections (and some hill climb events) they can get picky on the location of the fire extingusher...
Schedule H:
must be capable of removal by the driver (or crew, where applicable) while seated in their normal respective position for competition with safety harness unfastened, unless varied by specific category regulations and without the aid of tools

All good. I can easily reach the extinguisher whilst seated in the drivers seat

Took the car for a wheel alignment at Fulcrum Capalaba yesterday. Michael was great to deal with, listened to what I wanted, and did the best the could to achieve it.
Unfortunately, my fears of not being able to get the front camber I wanted where realised, and the camber maxed out at 1.9 degrees Looks like the next thing on the shopping list will have to address that. Need to look at options, but it seems most are suggesting the ELBJ's. Just hope the lack of camber on the front doesn't hurt the front tyres too much, and upset the balance of the car too much either.
Anyway here's the before and after specs:
Before:
Front Left: Camber -1.88 deg.........................Front Right: Camber -1.80 deg
..............Toe -0.6mm...............................................Toe - +1.1mm
..............Caster +6.81 deg.........................................Caster +6.51 deg

2.4mm total toe in the rear is a lot for a street dríven car!
Extended lower ball joints will help or use offset (eccentric) bushes. There is also a mod you can do to the lower arm, where two tabs are welded on, this is the same as using ELBJ.

To be honest, it's days as a street dríven car are numbered This will retain registration for as long as possible, but as of now, it really only gets dríven on the street to road test something, take it to a workshop, or to and from the track.
I am running out of time and won't be fully prepared for Saturday, but for the next round I intend to have the ELBJs fitted, more camber all round, and have myself a pyrometer to get some real data on how the alignment is working. I've never actually run that much toe in before, but the 949Racing alignment specs suggest 2-3mm total toe in for a car with over 220rwhp, so we will see.

Should be able to smash out some quick times with boost dude. The best I have done on the AD08R's is a 63.1 and 130whp, so I expect 61s
I have run that much rear toe and I didn't really notice it TBH. With that alignment, i'll guess it'll push a bit.
What springs and bars are you running?

I'm not expecting anything like 61s on our first shakedown. I will be very happy with a 63.0
Yeah, I'm concerned about the lack of front camber but nothing I can do about it for now.
It is currently running standard SE sway bars and just some MCA Blues (9kg/5kg) coilovers, so it's far from optimal. We will definitely be replacing the coilovers in the not too distant future. Not sure what with yet.

Final check over of the engine bay before our track debut. Thought it was a good a time as ever to take a photo
Pretty happy with how the car performed in its first track outing. Mechanically the car ran faultlessly thanks to Dann's efforts, but there's definitley some work to do in regards to suspension. I also suspect we will find or exceed the limits of the A1RM pads pretty quickly. I have some data to go over, as well as inspecting things like tyre wear and brake pads & rotors when I have time, but there are already some plans for further mods, so stay tuned.

One thing I did have to do to fit into the Street Class at the Time Attack event was remove the Track Dog racing front lip. I'm not sure how much difference it would have made but for now it'll stay off as I develop the car as far as I can within the class rules.

More camber... How much rake does the car have? Lower ride height?
